This Week’s Abroad101 Cool Program is AIFS in Cannes, France

Known worldwide for a film festival, Cannes is a vibrant seaside city in the South of France.  More than just a Mediterranean beach resort, this week’s Cool Program is AIFS in Cannes where as a student you can see much of what tourists miss.  Spend a semester, academic year, Maymester or summer studying at the Collège International de Cannes where courses are taught in English or French. No previous French language study is required, but if you want to really boost your French, you can choose an optional homestay.

You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as day trips to St. Tropez, Monaco, Antibes, Grasse and Ile Sainte Marguerite. A 4-day trip to Paris and 2-day trip to Provence are also included. Optional excursions include a 3-day trip to Florence, Italy and a 2-night London stopover before the start of the program. Summer students choose a 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 week program, with four different sessions available. AIFS offers a Maymester Program to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival, and spring semester students have the opportunity to intern or volunteer during this world-renowned festival.

Prague Study Abroad with AIFS – Abroad101 Cool Program of the Week

CzechRepublic-Prague-AIFSPrague is Cool!  This week’s cool program is AIFS in Prague where you take classes at the world class Charles University and live in this vibrant European city.  Courses are in English too:

Prague-AIFS-reviewLive in a student residence hall well connected to the rest of the city. Students have a double room and access to a shared bathroom and kitchen. The residence hall provides internet access and 24-hour reception.

You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as guided city walks, visits to museums and cultural sites, opera, theater and ballet performances, sporting events and language events to meet and practice the language with Czech students. A 2-day trip to Moravia, the beautiful eastern part of the Czech Republic, is included in the program. Optional excursions include a 3-day trip to Krakow and Auschwitz-Birkenau, a 3-day trip to Berlin, a 3-day visit to Southern Bohemia and Salzburg, and a trip to Vienna for fall semester students and trip to Budapest for spring semester students.

A Final Farewell To Istanbul, Turkey

It was a very tearful goodbye yesterday morning to my fellow AIFS students in Istanbul, Turkey. We all have different plans- some are studying abroad again for fall semester so they are traveling around Turkey, some are going back to the states, and I’m traveling around Europe for a bit before heading home. I figure that I might as well take advantage of that while I’m here.
